Option 1: Certification Program for Instructors

To become certified, first you’ll need to successfully complete the core courses. After you complete the core courses, you will transition into the online teaching practicum. In this phase of the program you will polish your online teaching skills by developing an ePortfolio, a robust collection of digital artifacts and reflections that you will create throughout the completion of required course work to demonstrate your skills and abilities. During this phase you will meet with an @ONE Peer Reviewer and the two of you will evaluate your ePortfolio to prepare you for the practicum culmination: an online presentation, in which you showcase your work and proficiency as defined by the @ONE Standards for Quality Online Teaching to a final review committee.
Be Informed - Watch a one hour desktop seminar about the certification program. Visit http://bit.ly/certinfo to launch the CCC Confer webconferencing application on your computer where you can view the presentation. Get Enrolled - Click on "Enroll Now!" at the top right of this page and complete the FREE enrollment process (a simple web-form) to get enrolled in the program. After enrolling you will receive priority registration for future certification classes. Register - As soon as you are enrolled you can register for your first course (see info below about course order). You are encouraged to take one class at a time. Each class (excluding the Practicum) requires roughly 10-hours of time per week.
There are 5 courses required as part of the certification program.  You must complete Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning (IOTL) as your first course.  This course is the program foundation and prepares you for all of the other courses. Once you complete IOTL you may complete the four remaining courses in any order you please.
  1. Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning
  2. Course Management Training*
  3. Building Online Community with Social Media
  4. Creating Accessible Online Courses
  5. Designing Effective Online Assessments
Once you have completed the five required courses you are eligible to register for the Online Teaching Practicum.  This phase of the certification program is not a course, it is a semi-structured development phase where you work with a Peer Reviewer to refine your ePortfolio.  For more information visit the  Online Teaching Practicum page.
Complete 1st: Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning. Then, Complete in any order: Course Management Training*, Building Online Community with Social Media, Creating Accessible Online Courses, Designing Effective Online Assessments. Complete Last: Online Teaching Practicum

Option 2: Customized Certification Programs for Colleges

@ONE continues to offer our flexible, customized certification program, in an effort to meet the needs of administrators with unique institutional needs. Institutions interested in this option, may select their own customized curriculum plan from @ONE's robust set of course offerings. As your faculty complete the coursework, we will monitor their progress and, in the end, each of the final certification designations is granted by your institution. If you would like to learn more about this option, please contact us today!

*@ONE Offers both Intro to Teaching with Moodle and Intro to Teaching with Blackboard - you are only required to complete one CMS course. Candidates who can verify that they have at least a year of online teaching experience with a particular course management system may opt out of the CMS Training requirement.  Please contact us for more information.
