To become certified, first you’ll need to successfully complete the core courses. After you complete the core courses, you will transition into the online teaching practicum. In this phase of the program you will polish your online teaching skills by developing an ePortfolio, a robust collection of digital artifacts and reflections that you will create throughout the completion of required course work to demonstrate your skills and abilities. During this phase you will meet with an @ONE Peer Reviewer and the two of you will evaluate your ePortfolio to prepare you for the practicum culmination: an online presentation, in which you showcase your work and proficiency as defined by the @ONE Standards for Quality Online Teaching to a final review committee.

There are 5 courses required as part of the certification program. You must complete Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning (IOTL) as your first course. This course is the program foundation and prepares you for all of the other courses. Once you complete IOTL you may complete the four remaining courses in any order you please.
- Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning
- Course Management Training*
- Building Online Community with Social Media
- Creating Accessible Online Courses
- Designing Effective Online Assessments
Once you have completed the five required courses you are eligible to register for the Online Teaching Practicum. This phase of the certification program is not a course, it is a semi-structured development phase where you work with a Peer Reviewer to refine your ePortfolio. For more information visit the Online Teaching Practicum page.
